East River Legal Services (ERLS) “We Believe” Art Contest Guidelines
WHY PARTICIPATE IN THE ART CONTEST?
East River Legal Services is holding this poster art contest for all participants with the theme “We Believe.” The intention is to provide an opportunity for members of the community, including children and teens, to help raise awareness about domestic violence, and to encourage victims to look forward to a future free of domestic violence.
PRIZE:
One poster will be selected for a $100 cash prize, and another poster will be selected for a $50 prize. Other prizes may also be available. Any of the posters submitted may be used in advertising for East River Legal Services, be displayed in events that ERLS participates in such as the Domestic Violence Summit and Take Back the Night.
The staff and attorneys at East River Legal Services will judge entries based on creativity, message, color, and complexity.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Beginning in June, we are posting invitations to participate in the Art Contest around town, and on Facebook. If you know of someone with artistic talents, please encourage them to submit a poster!
- You may use crayon, color pencil, watercolor, poster paint, markers, ink, pastels, chalk, cut paper, or fabric to create your poster proposal.
- Posters should be submitted on 8.5 x 11 in. (standard size) white paper.
- Include your name, age, and county of residence, along with your address or other contact information on the back of the poster.
- Only your original artwork will be accepted.
- All ages are eligible.
Submissions must be received no later than August 31, 2020.
Computer-generated, trademarked work, slogans, traced, or copyrighted material is prohibited and will not be considered. We also ask that applicants reside in East River Legal Services service area—in any of the 33 counties East of the Missouri River in South Dakota.
